The additional designation “Type R” regularly sets the hearts of Honda fans racing, as the abbreviation always stands for the sportiest versions of a model series.
The Civic Type R is sportier than ever before. Even visually, you can recognize the fastest Civic of all time at first glance. The beefy front end, the wider wheel arches,
a very eye-catching diffuser at the rear and the oversized rear wing characterize the compact brawler.
But the Civic Type R can do more than just look good; it’s also a technical treat that’s just as sporty to drive as it looks. Honda has changed many things for the Civic Type R, including a newly developed adaptive four-point damper system specifically for the powerful compact car. The rear suspension and steering system have also been adapted, and the whole thing is rounded off by the Brembo sports brake system for sporty handling.
The sound is also significantly sharpened when you switch to +R mode. Here, too, the Civic Type R shows that it is made for the racetrack and that unnecessary noise insulation has been largely dispensed with in order to further optimize the weight. The Civic Type R also has perfect roadholding and can hardly be ruffled, even in extreme situations.
